Our San Diego construction defect law firm team wants to share an update on the re-opening of San Diego Superior Court. Now, the Court has continued to increase services available to the public. Below, we have shared some key points from the most recent update from the court and what it means to our clients and cases.

  • On March 17, the San Diego Superior Court closed for all non-emergency services.
  • On May 26, the Court resumed most business operations.
  • Rescheduling notices are in progress to be sent to involved parties for more than 87,000 hearings. Most of those hearings will be handled remotely via video or telephone conference.
  • Filings continue to be done electronically. The Court has been working diligently to process all filings in a timely manner. We have not experienced any issues with any of our construction defect cases.
  • The San Diego Superior Court planned to resume jury trials beginning on October 13 with jurors summoned beginning on October 9.

Due to COVID-19, the court system has been a challenging business environment to navigate, but we are working with our clients and staying on top of all the latest updates, changes, and news so you can have a smooth construction defect litigation process as possible.
