Our San Diego-based law firm announced that our attorneys recently recovered $3,650,000 in damages on behalf of an Orange County homeowners association for construction defects at the property.

On June 19, 2019, our firm filed a lawsuit in the Orange County Superior Court on behalf of Plaintiff against the developer and builders of the project.

The association was built in a heavily sloped area. Early in the project, numerous slopes failed and continuously eroded, which ended up damaging landscaping and drainage components.

Also, the asphalt streets continually showed excessive cracking. The cracking and damage expanded to the driveways, sidewalks, and curbs

Plaintiff experts also discovered that the storm drain system and retention basin had not been constructed properly. The Plaintiff’s reserve expert examined the Department of Real Estate budget prepared by the developer and discovered that numerous components were completely omitted.  He also determined that there were computation issues related to roadways, wrought iron fences, masonry walls and access gates.

After multiple mediations before mediator, our firm successfully won a settlement for the Association in the amount of $3,650,000.
